good morning! today's wellness fact for fun fact friday is inspired by finally getting a night of good sleep! scientifically proven tips and tricks for hacking your sleep: ☁ no naps! try to stay awake as long as possible! fight through how awful it feels for a couple of days, you'll feel so much better once your sleep is back to normal. ☁ screens off one hour before bed. our phones keep our minds active, even after we've turned them off! ☁ AC on! did you know that our body needs to drop 2-3 degrees Fahrenheit for our bodies to drop into deep, REM sleep?? ☁ get blue blockers: blue light suppresses melatonin. (even a table lamp can cause this!) ☁ all red light when the sun goes down ☁ a hot shower right before bed. when you're in a hot shower, the heat in your body comes to the surface of your skin. As soon as you're out, the temperature drops immediatly to the ideal temperature for sleep. ☁ sleep mask for total darkness :) reference: Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker (highly highly highly recommend this book.)
