Dr. Jason Fung (one of my favssss) has dedicated his career to understanding how insulin and our metabolism works. Essentially, the more insulin, the more storage of foods. If you eat a cake, your body won't process it. It will only store it. This just proves that even if you're only eating bread and working out a million hours a week, you will still gain weight because you will still STORE the food instead of using it.
